hands, hearts, & flowers!
Starting September 3, we will kick off our Hands, Hearts, and Flowers Campaign.
Our vision and goal is to build a strong faith community in Carrollton where everyone feels welcomed, loved and that they belong. To build, strengthen, and renew connections with CFUMC, we will extend 500 invitations with the hope that 50 or more will be accepted.
We will have cut outs of Hands, Hearts, and Flowers at both locations. In order to serve as a reminder and set the tone for our vision I am asking that every time you extend an invitation to someone you put a hand on the wall, every time one of your invitations is accepted you put a heart on the wall and for every new person we have show up that came on their own we will put a flower on the wall.
Throughout the year (September 2023-August 2024) our church will be hosting opportunities for you to invite others (although we should all be inviting every week) to join our church family for fun, fellowship, and worship. For example, our Dessert War event in September, Advent Festival in December along with Holiday Worship opportunities during Christmas and Easter and many more. We will have available cards with church information on them so that you can hand someone as you
verbally invite them to join us. This would count as one invite. We will have prayer cards available to pick up at each location with a reminder of our Goal on one side and a prayer we can all be joining as a church family to help us stay centered on being people of
invitation. At the end of the year, August 2024, we will have a party celebrating our 500+ invites. I look forward to the ways we will be touching lives in our community.
Blessings, Pastor Kimberly
Our vision and goal: To build a strong faith community in Carrollton where everyone feels welcomed, loved
and that they belong. To build, strengthen, and renew connections with CFUMC, we will extend 500
invitations with the hope that 50 or more will be accepted.
Our prayer:
Eternal God, may our invitations make a difference. Whether our invitees respond with a 'yes' or a 'no,' we
pray that they will receive our invitations as a reminder of your unconditional love for them. Even if they
decline our offer, may the invitation itself bring hope and encouragement to their lives. Amen.
Here is a list of things to pray for to get you started in the invitation process as published in
EvangelismCoach.org in response to an article titled 3 Questions for Charles Arn
1. Pray for your potential Guests
2. Pray for the opportunity to arise to invite them to Church
3. Pray for awareness of their need
4. Pray for awareness of the opportunity
5. Pray for the courage to invite them to church.
6. Pray for favor that they would accept the invitation.
7. Pray they would follow through and come.
8. Pray that your church would welcome them.
9. Pray that the message and worship would be awe-inspiring
10. Pray that they would hear the message and grow one-step closer to God.
